Counseling
Safe Passage provides counseling services to adult survivors of both domestic and sexual violence. Services provided are:
Individual Counseling
Domestic Violence: Adult or childhood issues of domestic violence, including emotional, physical, sexual, or neglect issues.
Sexual Violence: Adult or childhood experiences of sexual assault, abuse, or sexual harassment.
Substance Abuse: Domestic and/or sexual violence survivors are offered counseling to help understand the correlation of substance abuse and violence.
Significant Other: Parents, partners, friends, and family members of a sexual assault survivor may seek services to cope with the effects of their survivor's sexual assault.
Family Counseling
Domestic Violence: Sessions include parent and child sessions
Family or Significant Other: Sessions may include the sexual assault survivor, family members, and/or significant other.
Group Counseling
Domestic Violence (Open) Support Group for Women (18+ yrs)
The purpose of this group is to:
- provide emotional support for women as they work through the effects of abuse
- encourage personal growth in all areas of life
- provide a comfortable atmosphere to develop relationships which are trusting and caring
- provide a safe place to talk about the abuse
- learn more about abuse and its effect on oneself and children witnessing abuse
Substance Awareness (Open) Group for Women (18+ yrs)
Open to any woman who feels their life has been impacted by substance abuse through personal use or someone else's use. Purpose of this group is to:
- understand addictions and the impact in their lives
- explore overwhelming feelings and emotions such as guilt, shame, anger, fear, loss
- develop, maintain and modify coping skills and strategies
- develop safety plans
Women's Sexual Assault/Abuse Survivor's (Closed) Group for Adult (18+ yrs)
This group is for survivors of sexual assault or abuse. Group members will learn to:
- understand trauma and its impact
- manage disclosure and overwhelming feelings and emotions such as guilt, shame, anger, fear
- develop, maintain and modify coping skills and strategies
- develop safety plans
